Supplier Code of Conduct

Novolex Ethics & Compliance Helpline

As a further part of our commitment to responsible and ethical business conduct, we provide suppliers and their employees with access to an independent Ethics and Compliance Helpline that can be used to report potential violations of the Code without fear of retribution. The Helpline utilizes an automated system that facilitates an efficient assessment and investigation process. Reports made through the Helpline can remain anonymous and confidential.

Responsible business practices and ethical conduct are fundamental to every aspect of our operations. As vital business partners, we expect our suppliers, vendors and other third-party relationships (hereafter “suppliers”) to share our commitments and adhere to the same standards that we set for ourselves for ethical and responsible conduct, while at the same time providing the highest quality products and services. The Novolex Supplier Code of Conduct provides our suppliers with expectations for their behavior on a broad scope of activities, including protecting the environment, respecting human rights, and promoting worker health and safety. Adherence to the Code is also a requirement of Novolex contractual terms and conditions.

The Code calls on suppliers to adopt and apply practices that strive to minimize the impact of their operations on the environment by encouraging reductions in the use of energy and water and the generation of waste and emissions. Supplier responsibility also includes adherence to both the letter and spirit of laws and regulations designed to prevent corruption and bribery, and the Code includes anti-corruption and anti-bribery provisions as well as guidelines for gifts and entertainment. In addition, the Code addresses the need to protect data to safeguard confidential information.

If you suspect or have reason to believe human rights abuses are occurring, or have other concerns, please contact the Novolex Ethics & Compliance Helpline.

Human Rights

Novolex will not do business with organizations that engage in the use of illegal, forced or involuntary labor, human trafficking, child labor or other unfair or discriminatory labor practices. The protection of human rights in the workplace is of paramount importance to Novolex and the Code obligates suppliers to respect and protect those rights as well as ensure the health and safety of their employees. The Supplier Code of Conduct explicitly states that suppliers shall not use forced labor or employ workers procured through the use of human trafficking and suppliers must adhere to all laws and regulations designed to prevent such practices. Such laws and regulations include the UK Modern Slavery Act of 2015 and The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act with which Novolex business practices are aligned. View our full statement on the UK Modern Slavery Act of 2015 and The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act.

As an organization, we are committed to being part of the solution to address inequality in our supply chain. If we suspect human rights abuses or have reason to believe suppliers are not adhering to the requirements of our Code, we take action until we are confident concerns related to human rights have been addressed. We reserve the right to conduct third-party audits on suppliers to verify compliance with Novolex standards and promote corrective actions or terminate a supplier’s contract, as necessary.
